Sears Sucks

DH ordered a tool box from them that was only available online. He wanted the center part to his three part tool chest. It was something that he wanted, just cause. Anyway, he ordered it around the 1st of April and was told that it would be to us in about 10 days. He received a confirmation from UPS that the order had been placed. The UPS site NEVER got a tracking number update, so DH called Sears to see what was going on. After talking to three people, he FINALLY got to talk to someone who knew. They didn’t send it out UPS, they sent it out via a freight truck. They were shipping four tool chests to our area and they would be delivered by Courier once they got in and it would be about 2 more weeks. Okay, no biggie. Bit disappointed, but hey, you get what you pay for.

So the chest was FINALLY delivered last Tuesday. It is damaged. The Courier happened to be a friend of DH’s and picked the least damaged one, but it was still damaged. He recommended that DH send it back and get a new one, which DH did. So he called Sears and told them that it was unacceptable and he wanted a new one sent out UPS. He was told no problem and it would be there in 4-6 days. Again he got the UPS confirmation and NO tracking number. Yesterday was 5 days and he called Sears again to be told that ONCE AGAIN they sent it via the freight truck. So, now DH is super pissed and cancelled the tool chest. Then went one step further and returned the pressure washer and other tools that we bought on Sunday. For a total of $1000 returned to Sears because they are dumbasses. Now as a result, he will never again spend any money there.

I feel so bad for him because he really wanted that tool chest. I just don’t understand why they would do something like that. They offered him $20 back as an apology, but that isn’t worth the hassle or the wait, not to mention that it will most likely be damaged again and we have to do this all over. I told DH to contact Corporate, but he doesn’t see the point. They don’t seem to care about the customers they have. I feel bad for him, but I honestly have to agree. Long story short, buyer beware!
