Damn it Mom!!

So, earlier this week, I took Chayleigh to McDonald's to get a happy meal. She gets chicken nuggets, apple dippers and milk. We eat the nuggets on the way home and then eat the apples after we get home. For some reason this week I gave her the caramel sauce, which I usually don't. Anyway, of course she got it EVERYWHERE. I tried to brush her hair so that she didn't have her third bath for the night. It was stuck good. I tried brushing and she looked at me and said, "Damn it Mom". I was floored. I said, "What did you say?". She did it again. Then the little stinker started walking down the hall, shaking her head and saying under her breath, "damn it Mom" three or four times. All I could do is laugh. What is weird is that neither Shawn nor I use damn it.

I asked at Daycare yesterday and found the culprit. Guess that dc's oldest daughter was saying it a lot on Tuesday, Damn it mom, so that is where she picked it up.

Guess I should just be happy that she can say three word sentences? Bwahaha

Warning - VERY graphic post about POOP

Today SUCKED. I got off work a bit early so that I could go and pick up Chayleigh from daycare and then go and get my trial pair of contacts from the eye doc and check out the brand new Costco. All of that went well. Too well in fact, I should have KNOWN that something bad was going to happen.

We were going home from Costco and all of a sudden I smelled what I thought was cow shit. I couldn't figure it out because I always have my car on inside air cause the air in our area stinks (amazingly enough like cow shit). Well I just happened to look in the backseat after about 5 minutes of trying to figure out what the smell was and there in the backseat was my darling daughter compeletely covered in SHIT. She had it in her hair, her face, her clothes, her carseat and even shared some with my car window and back seat. I was FREAKED out. I couldn't pull over and was still about 5 minutes from home. I drove home as fast as I could and threw her in the tub. ICK ICK ICK. I hate hate hate shit. It is so nasty.

I called DH and he came home to pull apart the carseat and all should be good soon. She is cleaned up and so is the car. Ugh here's to hoping that tomorrow is a better day.

Memories

I am working on a DVD of pictures of Chayleigh for a "party favor" at her birthday next month and came across this picture. It makes me smile every time I see it. Honestly, I can barely remember her being that tiny. It is good to go back and look how much she has grown.

For Kristie

This is what my chicken and rice turns out like.  Sorry the picture isn't better.

Recipe:
3-4 Chicken breast halves
1 10oz can of cream of chicken soup
1 cup of cooking rice - do NOT use instant
1 soup can with milk

Pre-heat oven to 350

In a covered baking dish, mix the rice, milk and soup together. Place the chicken on top of the rice/soup mixture. I kind of put the chicken nestled down in the mixture so that it is covered a bit and add your seasoning. I use pepper, onion salt and garlic powder as spices, but you can use what you like. Put the lid on the dish and put in the oven for an hour or until the chicken is done. Then scoop out and enjoy. Chayleigh loves this dish as well.

Chayleigh Counting to 5

Our Trip

I can't believe I forgot to talk about it.

Our trip there was pretty uneventful. We left at 5am because the goal was to have Chayleigh sleep some of the way. She was awake the entire time, with an hour nap around 10:30 or so, but on pretty good behavior. She watched "movies" most of the way there.

Our hotel was right off the freeway and pretty centrally located, so it was easy to find and easy to get there. Dropped Shawn off so he could nap and Chayleigh and I headed out to Grandma's house. We had a good time. My parents picked up Shawn when they got into town about 6pm or so and they all came over and we had dinner.

The next day we went to the lake. Of course I forgot my camera, so no pictures. Chayleigh doesn't like sand, so that didn't go over too well, but it was funny. Then we headed over to get a card and some other stuff for Grandma's party.

Went to her house around 1:30pm and stayed until 8pm or so. Chayleigh refused to nap, so by looking at the pictures we have, you can tell it was a LONG DAY for all of us. She didn't do well with all of the strangers wanting to "play" with her. Although, when we were ready to leave, she was all kissy and huggy, so that turned out well.

We got back to the hotel and took her swimming in the hotel pool. That was fun. Then we ate some pizza and went to bed.

Sunday we went to my Aunt's house at the lake. We had breakfast and cranky monster reared her head again. She threw herself on the floor at every opportunity. It was great fun. Then again, we got ready to leave and she gave everyone hugs and kisses.

Headed off to my Dad's mom's house. Visited with her and his sister (Aunt Barb) for a while. We got a new blanket that Barb made for Chayleigh and then we had to go home because it was a long day. Chayleigh fell asleep as soon as we left the driveway. She stayed asleep for about two hours, so that was nice.

Then came the drive home. I missed the turn outside of Spokane and didn't realize it until we passed Moses Lake, so about four hours later. Then ended up in Yakima. Interesting experience that was. Never have been there, and I can honestly say, if you haven't you aren't missing anything. It is about two hours out of the way for us, so by our little detour, we added about 3.5 hours to the drive. Instead of getting home at 9:30 like we planned, we got home at 1am. Chayleigh did excellent in the car on the way home until about an hour from home. Then she got really tired of the car and wanted out.

All in all, it was a great trip. Except for the crankiness and the wrong turn, we would do it again. It was great getting to see family again and having Chayleigh meet everyone.

Funny

So, when we sneeze, we say "bless you". The other day, I sneezed and I heard this little voice say, "bless you mommy". I about died. I was laughing so hard. I love this age where they actually "learn". She is turning out to be so much fun!
